travel tours known for the small groups, carefully planned itineraries, and
flexibility to explore on 'free-style free-time'. Roads2Thailand.com
is the website dedicated to travel tours to Thailand. For those who
prefer to sometimes travel independently, stay near the local activity,
enjoy several days in a few places, and are energetic enough for some walking
each day, then a Roads2.Com travel tour is for you.
The founders of Roads2.Com worked and traveled
throughout the world for over 30 years. And during that time,
they were involved with infrastructure projects in many
industries. Beyond their varied professional experiences
was the broad exposure, understanding and appreciation of many
cultures, each with its own unique contrasts and beauty. The
'vision' of Roads2.Com is to share their experiences and lifelong
memories with a 'boutique-style' of travel.
There
are six scheduled Roads2Thailand tours at this time. All tours
include vibrant, modern Bangkok with over 6 million people and it's sense of history and
timelessness. Hua Hin is a quieter place with beach resorts, and the Royal
Family summer palace. Upcountry Chiang
Rai in northern Thailand is cooler and near the
Myanmar-Laos borders. Koh
Samui, an island in the Gulf of Thailand is
known for its tranquility, white sandy beaches and warm clear water.
Bangkok and Luang Prabang, Laos make up a unique 2-country Roads2Thailand tour.
Siem Reap & Phnom
Penh, Cambodia make up another unique 2-country tour, with yet
another 2-country tour combining Bangkok, Yangon
and Mandalay, Myanmar.
Each tour is a 'small group'
of only 8 tour travelers. Included
is international 'airfare' with departure and transit airport 'lounge privileges', domestic airfare,
hotel accommodations with 'breakfast', ground transportation, one 'hosted
dinner' surrounded by 'Thai culture', and 'entrance
fees' to all scheduled tour sights. Assistance
in arranging Roads2.Com's daily 'free-style
free-time' to explore non-scheduled
tour sights is provided.
Each Roads2.Com tour is carefully
coordinated by a local in-country
manager. All licensed, native speaking
tour guides are fluent in English.
Additionally, a
Custom tour can be arranged for a
special family occasion or a group of friends.
Thailand - Land of Freedom - Land of Smiles
.....
Thailand is unique among Southeast
Asian countries in having developed its culture independently of Western
colonialism, and the Thais are proud of their history. The kingdom's
Buddhism is the purest in the region. Its language is like no other, and
is enormously rich, with an extraordinary capacity for exact expression of the
finest nuances of human relationships, a sign of the importance Thais place on
dealing with one another peaceably and with dignity.
Contrasts abound in the country, both geographically
and socially. In a land the size of France, cities and rural villages
reveal their contrasts from the hectic, yet beautiful capital Bangkok
to Hua Hin, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Koh Samui to
Krabi. Island beaches are sheltered by palm trees and gentle
waters.
Thailand's origins may reach as far back as 5,600
years to the world's oldest Bronze Age civilization. Much later, from the
6th to the 13th centuries, know as the Dvaravati period, people from the
southern Chinese province of Unnan moved into the fertile basin of the Chao
Phraya River. Two Siamese chieftains banded together, captured the Khmer
outpost of Sukhothai and established the first Thai kingdom in
1238.
Up to now, the Thais' strong belief in Buddhism has
accounted for their tolerant attitude, which can be summed up by their
expression 'mai pen rai' (never mind, it does not matter). The Thais' have
great respect for their monarchy.
Thailand's attraction rests with the people.
Proud of their independence, the Thais believe in accommodation rather than
confrontation. The Thais communicate by smiles, which have many
meanings. The word thai means freedom.
Thailand
is truly a Land of Freedom and
the Land of Smiles.
